1. Cherry Tomato plants grow very slowly.

So speeches are approaching fast and it is terrifying.
I personally hate speeches because you end up putting so much effort into making your speech and once you have presented it you can throw it away!
Whenever I present my speech, I end up doing this ----------------->
But i reckon that I am pretty prepared.
I dont know it off by heart, cause i Suck.
I have it stuck on cue cards (of course).
The thing i need to work on the most is talking slowly.

BOOK WEEK SWAG!!

YALLO!
Last week was book week.
I dressed up as Mihno from the maze runner.
I looked sweg.
OK onto the actual questions.
So we had a visitor come called Fifi Colston.
She told us about her experience with books and why she became an author.
We also had a book character parade.
Everyone showed off their costumes and they were epic.
But as I am a house captain I got to judge everyone's costumes to see who had the best costume.
We also had a book quiz.
We had some questions for some people and the winners got house points.
There was a bool swap.
WE got to bring in books and exchange them for other books.
The final thing we did was a book week activity.
I made a movie and filmed the plot of the maze runner with some friends.
SO book week was quite interesting.
I quite liked it.

So book week is going on right now and booms are the only things teachers are talking about now.
But I kind of enjoy reading books.
I particularly love Big Nate books.
I also like Tom Gates.
Those are awesome book series!
My favourite picture book was probably letter land.
When I was younger, that was the bomb!
My favourite author right now is probably Jeff Kinney.
I quite enjoy his books because he has quite a nice style and his books are very suitable for young kids.
The best book I have read so far is definitely the newest Big Nate book.
I would recommend it to everyone!

PRODUCTION!!

ROBIN AND THE SHERWOOD HOODIES!
So lately the production happened and I was in it.
I was Robin Hood!
It was awesome!
I got a huge role and a huge speaking part.
The best part was getting to actually talk in the production for the first time.
That was the highlight of the whole thing.
The funniest moment was when Cole's mic stuffed up. That was hilarious.
I wish that I got to do the whole production again cause it was so fun.

Today I am back and this is space news pt.2!
So there is some really stuff happening in space the moment.
Really crazy stuff.
They are doing everything they can to make history and discover new things.
But I am just going to talk about mars and the discoveries.
NASA has sent multiple rovers to mars to find out what the heck is going on up there.
This is because in 2020 they are going to put humans on mars! (gasp)
SO yeah!
Mars is actually quite dangerous so this will be interesting.
Also apparently there was some water shown on mars.
But apparently that might not be water?

Today I have another work related post.
It is about a thing called a space inquiry project.
Basically we have a certain amount of tasks to complete over 3 weeks.
We have to complete 6 tasks out of 10 over those 3 weeks.
So last week I completed 2 things.
I watched videos about the ISS and the changes that are made there.
Then I had to write a paragraph about what I learnt.
The other ting I did was make a space crossword.
That was my fav.
I like doing these because they were actually quite easy.
I should probably do some harder tings now that I think about it.
I only learnt about changes in space compared to earth.

Today is a very emotional day for me.

I am talking about time management.
Yes, time management.
So yeah...
I think I do have good time management due to me getting all my tasks done.
I complete as much work as I can at school so I can chill out at home and learn my lines for the production.
I only ever take work home if I absolutely need to.
I listen to music while I do work and it helps me work faster because it gives me adrenaline.
It is like a triple shot of espresso.
The things that make it difficult is friends.
They distract me alot.
I just have to ignore them and do as much as I can independently.
SO yeah!!

PRODUCTION FUNK IT UP!!!!!

YO WHATS UP GUYS!!
Today I am back and I have got something cool.
(Spoiler: this s going to be a short post so I will put alot of gifs i to make it longer ;) )

So yeah today I am talking about what we have coming up.
THE PRODUCTION!
We have been learning some dances and they are pretty fun.
So yeah these dances are all for the production that is upcoming and it will be very cool.
Te first dace is for the Year 7's.

I am not sure what the song it is but I know that it is not as hard as the Year 8 dance.
The Year 7 dance is kinda slow and not as fast. But it is still a long dance and hard to remember.
The Year 8 dance is a song called No Money by Galantis and it is a very hard and fast dance.  It has alot of dance moves in it that just repeats itself over and over again. Butt still its hard to remember. I actually like the Year 8 one better. Even though it is hard and really fast, I still like it the most. To make sure that this dance goes well on the night that we are performing,  I have to make sure that I practice these moves and get them suck in my head.
SO yeah I hope that the production goes well and I suppose that in the future I will b posting on acting rehearsals.
For the production  got the lead role! SO I have to learn 97 lines of by heart in 8 weeks. Geez that is going to be hard.

POKEMON GO TAKES OVER!!
A few months ago, if you saw someone in your neighborhood walking around looking at their phone, you might have supposed they were lost. But now, you would probably suppose they are catching Pokemon. Pokemon has been around since 1995 and was a Japanese animation. It was also created as a video game on Nintendo. It has become more and more popular now because of Pokemon Go. People have made more interest into playing the game and watching the episodes. Pokemon Go was created by the same people that made google maps so that whenever there are pokestops or anything it shows some landmarks of the town that google maps has captured. But many people are getting obsessed and will not get off their phone. The real question is, is Pokemon Go become a problem?

So yeah that was my summary on the Pokemon Go news and I hope that I did an okay job?

RIO 2016 OLYMPICS BOIIIIIIIIIIIIIII !

Today I have returned to talk to y'all about something very important.
The olympics!!
So we are supporting NZ and we are going good at the moment.
Lately I have been watching diving because it is really cool.
China won the gold medal.
USA won silver.
Great Britian won bronze.
My favourite part was just watching them do all the flips.
It was epic.
I pretty much already knew all about diving and all the flips.
The best flip I saw was a quad back 1/2.
That is four and a half back flips!
So yeah that's pretty much that.

BOOK GROUPS (A.K.A PARTY TIME)

YO WHATS UP GUYS!
So we are going to be doing a thing called book groups for the next few weeks.
We have already had our first lesson which was pretty fun.
I am in a group with Neeve, Caoimhe, Riley and myself and we are reading a book called Among the Hidden.
It is a very interesting book so far.
When you have your group meeting you must have read the amount of chapters the group has agreed on or else...
You talk with your group about what happened in that part of the book.
After a while you might unlock crackers (only if you have good discussions).
But saying crackers practically means any food.
So let's stop talking and get into the questions.
I think we are actually working well because we don't go off topic and we stay focused at all times.
We could probably make our group discussions better by having more mature things to say and have more questions to ask during the meetings.
SO yeah that is pretty much what our book groups are about.

MEDIEVAL WEEK A.K.A WAY TOO LONG AGO

So last week was Medieval Week.
It was the longest week of my life!
We learned all about the Medieval times and everything about it.
It was actually quite an interesting topic!
So we had to learn about a sepcific topic during the medieval times and I chose Falconry and Hunting.
It was all about the Hunting and ways they used to catch food.
Anyway, let us get onto the next question....

HOW DO YOU THINK YOUR LESSONS WENT?
They were pretty great.
We had to get into groups of 4 and pick a particular topic to focus on.
I was in a group with Adam, Liam Q and Daniel.
We chose to do medieval sports.
The groups had to create a power point focusing on your topic and an activity for the whole class to enjoy.
Our power point was successful and we play a gam called stoolball (it was turbo touch except you could kick it and run inti the end zone)!
Next question.....

WHAT WENT WELL?Pretty much everything really.
Everybody seemed fascinated by the powerpoint.
Everybody also LOVED the game.
So I think that it was a pretty successful lesson!

WHAT COULD YOU HAVE DONE BETTER?
Well I think that we could have rehearsed it a bit more because we stuttered a lot during the power point.
Also the game should have been more organised.
But it seemed pretty good to me.


WHICH OTHER LESSONS DID YOU ENJOY AND WHY?
I loved 2 of these topics specifically they had great activities.
There was a group with Henry, Josh, Lawrence and Dhyanesh who did market places and merchants.
The activity they did was merchant trading and it was a WHOLE lot of fun!
The other activity I liked was the group of Avania, William, Joshua and Katherine.
They focused on the Black Death.
I also liked their activity because it was a quiz on kahoot.
IT WAS SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH FUN!!

Anyway yeah so Medieval week was quite good(ish) and yeah.

KAPA HAKA!!

Today I have returned to tell you about the kapa haka activity we have been doing at school.
We have been learning many different dances and been performing them over the past 3 weeks.
So I have to tell you about what has happened, even though I have only been here for 1 lesson.
So I have found it easy because the dances are really simple to learn and catch onto.
The difficult part is having to learn all the dances without being properly taught how to do it! But I could probably improve this by making a huge effort to copy the leaders moves.

I have returned and I have something horrifying to tell you about.

MINECRAFT!

It is torture.

We have to build lots of building and make it look like a medieval village!

It has to look like a medieval village and I think that it seems pretty legit.

The cottages look like wattle and daub (or should I say dab)

The building also look like how they were built.

I quite like the guild hall because it looks very nice.

I actually think that probably the cottages need working on the most because they don't have crops.

I think I might work on the wall and cottages.

ELECTIVE MADNESS!!

Sometimes we get to play games like these, minus the trampolines.

So we have recently been doing this thing called electives.
It is a group of activities that you get to choose from and you do that thing on Friday morning.
I chose to do sport.
We go down to Nairnville park and do a bunch of games and activities.
The first few weeks we have done have been pretty fun (apart from the time I hit my head).
We have learnt lots of team skills and played many fun games to enjoy.
It is what I expected because I have done this elective for the past few years.
I can get the most of this elective by participating in every game and making sure that I can suck the life out of the game (that sounded weird).
Electives is so much fun and I hope that everyone who's elective is fun they enjoy.

CASTLE GALORE!

YO WHATS UP GUYS!!
So last week was castle week and it was bloody hard.
We had to build a paper castle and make it look good.
We also had to paint it!
It was horrible.
But we got it finished and looks average.
I was working with Daniel, Hugo and Tyler to help make it look awesome.
So we had to work together as a team to make it look FABULOUS and we had good communication and teamwork.
Eventually we did make it look FABULOUS!
Our decisions were made by good communication throughout the boys minds.
We didn't have too many problems so everything was all good m8.
But the only thing that was hard was actually making the castles.
So yeah, that's castle week over and done with thank God.

X COUNTRY

YO WHATS UP GUYS!!
So recently we have had our cross country race and it went alright.
It was memorable as it was the last cross country at st bens and I did enjoy it.
I do feel that I showed the school values on and off the track.
I cheered everyone on and congratulated people on how they did.
Of course I saw others using it as I saw others congratulating others as well.
As well as doing that, I persevered.
I did not stop running and I didn't walk at all.
Also having alot of stamina helped.
Others persevered as well.
Especially Aidan.
Even though he was struggling to finish the race, he got it done.

Cross country was a great experience and a very great race.
I am sure everyone that participated enjoyed it as much as I did.

Today I have something to tell y'all about something that I am very excited about.
Yes that's right, I am telling you about my fav book!
BIG NATE!!
This book is the newest in the series and it is my favourite book.
Pretty much this book series is all about the life of a boy named Nate and I really enjoy it.
I would recommend this series of books to anyone that likes comedy.
So as you can see this book I am talking about this book here called Big Nate Blasts Off.
Its a really funny book but I cannot really remember what happens in it.
I have a vague idea of what happens tho.
So pretty much Nate and his friends are just enjoy life.
Nate meets a hot girl.
Nate's dad loses his job and they might have to move to get a good job.
See if you want to find out if they move or not then you will have to read the book.
I love this book because it is so interesting and intense.
It is a great book to anyone that loves to read good books.
Plus it is made in 2016 so it is permissible for the 2016 reading challenge.
I definitely rate it 5 stars because it is my favourtie book ever!

YO WHAT'S UP GUYS!
I am back and I am here to talk about the term reflection basically.
Oh wait... I have to talk about 3 things I have learnt this term and what helped me learn these things.
So I learnt these things this term.
1. I learnt lots of team building skills. At camp I learnt how to work as a team and have trust in others.
2.Basic facts. I improved on my basic facts and I am getting scores over 90%!
3. Spelling and punctuation. I have improved on my spelling because i am getting 100% every time.

I was helped learning these skills by practicing and giving everything a go.  I can also make sure I don't forget them by using them everywhere I go. I can practice team work and basic facts at home and spelling in the classroom.

So yeah that was the questions I had to answer.
But right now I have a MASSIVE announcement to make. (not really massive but anyway...)

EASTER!!!!

So the Easter holidays have recently been and it was excellent.
So for the holidays i spent time with my family in Taupo and Hamilton.
We had great fun.
In Hamilton we got to see the cousins on my mum's side.
We went swimming at a pool and jumped off big diving boards.
We also climbed a big walnut tree and ate some fresh walnuts.
In Taupo I got to see my Grandfather and cousins on my dad's side.
In Taupo we got to go out for dinner and go on segways.
I made others feel good by playing with them and helping them have a good time.
They reacted in thanks because they had made not only me feel good but also I made them feel good as well.
This Easter holidays was great fun.
I'm sorry this was a short blogpost but the Easter holidays were great fun.
I hope y'all had a great holiday as well.

CAMP FLASHBACK

YO WHATS UP GUYS!!
I am back from camp and I have so much crap to share!!
Basically we did everything you would normally do on a camp, except OPC was way more extreme!!
I shall now tell you what is on the task sheet then I will tell you extra things.
I found the caving most challenging because we had to squeeze through many tight spaces.
I found the flying fox quite easy because you just had to jump and then let go.
Camp was not what I expected because it was a lot more challenging.
My proudest moment(s) was when I conquered my fears.
My favourite moment was when I conquered the high ropes. It was so much fun. I had to climb and keep pushing myself  to reach my goal.

CAMP AND EOTC

YO WHAT'S UP GUYS!!
Today I am back to tell you bros about all my experience at EOTC week and my feelings for Yr 8 camp.

EOTC week is all about education outside the classroom. You go on many different activities. It is a week of activities at school with your friends. One of the teachers take you on many different activities outside of the school. It is so much fun. Good luck year 7's.

But I am not going to that cause I have already been to it, last year. This year, I am going to Hilary Outdoors Pursuit Centre.
Over 1 week, me and my yr 8 friends are going on camp for 1 week.
I am really looking forward to doing all the exciting activities.
I am not really nervous about it because I have a lot of courage and am fearless.
To make camp a fun week, you need to be having a good attitude and don't hold behind not wanting to go anywhere. Otherwise it is no fun for anyone.

YO WHAT'S UP GUYS!!
Today I am back to tell you about a language learning site called duolingo.
This website is a place where you can lear different languages in a virtual world.
I love this website because it can give you a boost ahead of your teacher's programme. Also it is great because it helps you learn any language you choose to.
I have found some things difficult like converting the words from english to spanish. But sometimes the words pop up quite a lot and I can remember them easily.
Duolingo has DEFINITLEY helped me with spanish and is probably the greatest site for schools ever!! Duolingo is great for everyone that struggles to learn languages as well.
A great way to remember the words is to do the lesson multiple times or just write them down.
My method is that after every time I complete a group of lessons, (e.g food, animals etc.) I would test myself and I don't move onto the next group of lessons until I have got the entire test right.

Today I am here to tell you all about what we have been doing at technology so far.
Every Monday we go to mount cook school and we do different activities.
The categories are, 1. movie making 2. Technology  3. woodwork  4. cooking 5. sewing.
You are put into one of these groups with different people from your year group and you basically participate and learn how to make/do whatever your lesson is about.
I am in movie making with 4 of my good friends. Which is Haveesha, Josh, Lawrence and Fraser!!
 Tech is really fun and all activities are great.
Next term, I want to be in cooking.
Because the food you make is delicous!!

It is officially a new year 2016!!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
This year I am a year 8 and I have many responsibilities as a house captain and sports leader, I'm also a classroom fitness leader.


This year I am aiming big and trying new things.
Like doing more youtube videos and improve on them.

Anyway...
I am looking forward to watching 2 awesome movies,
Dirty Grandpa and Deadpool.
They very very funny.

Deadpool is all about a man who is chosen to become a superhero and is made to save lives. He also stops the bad guys and is a family guy.

Dirty Grandpa is all about when Jason (the grandson) grandma dies and his grandpa is devastated. But then they go to Daytona beach and is interrupted by a college party. Then the grandpa wants to be "active" again with ladies. So grandpa forces Jason to stay and they all go to a party and get crazy. That's basically all I can tell you otherwise it's a spoiler. I only recommend this to mature guys.

So far this year has gone pretty well considering we have only had 3 weeks of school so far. This year I am looking to have high standards. Getting god marks and having a successful year as a leader. I don't to bore you guys and gals to much so I will stop there.
